J-Camp is proud to continue offering the wildly popular, fully immersive,
Hebrew language traditional-style camp, with programming designed for rising
kinders all the way to our newly added 5th and 6th grade group. Hebrew immersion in summer camp encourages Hebrew language proficiency and
promotes pride in Jewish identity in a nurturing, creative and fun way. We
welcome campers with any level of Hebrew knowledge, from zero experience to
100% fluency, regardless of nationality.
The camp is structured in 4-week sessions to promote meaningful
interactions, enable children to develop their speaking and comprehension
skills, and build a strong sense of community. At J-Camp, it is possible to
learn Hebrew in a fun-filled way, while practicing the language as part of
everyday life. With a staff team comprised primarily of Israeli-born
Shlichim and counselors, Tayasim is sure to provide your camper with an
authentic and meaningful experience.
Every four-week session will be a unique experience, full of fun and
engaging activities. Counselors will encourage creative expression through arts and crafts, STEM, outdoor exploration, sports, cooking and Jewish culture. Campers will also enjoy recreational swim two times a week at our
OFJCC aquatics facility, in the heated indoor pool with counselors
facilitating fun activities.
The first Wednesday of each session will feature a highlight performance or
instructor. On the second Wednesday, K'tonton will travel off campus for a
weekly fun and engaging field trip. Field trips are planned with younger
campers in mind, beginning with destinations that are suitable for campers
that have never left campus, and will build as they gain new skills and
become more adventurous.
Every Friday is filled with non-stop excitement! Campers will begin their
Fridays with outrageously fun All-Camp Events, on the field at our
Freidenrich Community Park. Great new All-Camp event themes include, Summer
Splash Zone and Best of J-Camp Celebration! Following the All-Camp Event, we
will join together as a J-Camp mishpacha (family) and enjoy a kosher-style hot dog BBQ in the OFJCC town square.
J-Camp will celebrate the end of every week with performances, slideshows
and Shabbat songs in the Schultz Cultural Arts Hall.
Tayasim kinder campers will have the opportunity to participate in our
J-Camp sleepover during the last week of camp. Sleepovers are a great way
for your camper to bond with their friends and counselors as they
participate in fun activities such as movie in the park, glow in the dark
party, making s'mores and more!
Tayasim kinder campers will have a sleepover session 2.
Please Note: Tayasim will be split in groups by grade, and depending on the
number of kids at each grade level, there will be times the group will be
all together and separate.
