Teen Camps | CIT: Counselor in Training Fieldwork

Teens entering grades 9* and 10 will have the opportunity to apply to be a counselor in training (CIT). Throughout the summer, our CITs will learn important leadership skills and how to be a role model and care for others as a camp counselor. Guided by our camp values and leadership staff, CITs will gain a sense of responsibility and learn important skills such as managing tricky situations, communication best practices and facilitating fun and engaging programming. The CIT program is both a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow through hands-on experience, team building, professional development and of course our fun J-Camp traditions! During their field experience, CITs must be available for a full day of training on Sunday, June 15.

*Special note for entering 9th graders: they can choose to participate in either the Explore the Bay Camp or the CIT program, based on their interests and what they hope to get out of the summer. If you or your teen have questions about which program is the best fit for them this summer, please reach out and we will be happy to discuss the two options in further detail.
