Hebrew Immersion in summer camps encourages Hebrew language proficiency and promotes pride in Jewish identity in a nurturing, creative and fun way.

We welcome campers with any level of Hebrew knowledge, from zero experience to 100% fluency, regardless of nationality. The camp is structured in four-week sessions to promote meaningful interactions, enable children to develop their speaking and comprehension skills, and build a strong sense of community. At J-Camp, it is possible to learn Hebrew in a fun-filled way, while practicing the language as part of everyday life. With a staff team comprised primarily of Israeli-born Shlichim and counselors, this camp is sure to provide your camper with an authentic and meaningful experience.

In addition, campers will visit with our specialists, who create various activities related to sports, art, music and STEAM. Campers will also enjoy group swim lessons two to three times a week at our aquatics center.

Wacky Wednesdays are back! Campers are encouraged to get in the spirit of showing off how zany they can get with themes such as crazy hair, wacky outfit and twin day.

Every Thursday campers will travel off campus for their weekly field trip. Destinations may include the Oakland Zoo, Bounce A' Rama and Fairyland.

Every Friday is filled with non-stop fun! Campers will walk to nearby Mitchell Park at least one day a session for games in the park and a trip to the Magical Playground. Campers will enjoy a kosher-style hot dog BBQ with fruit and veggies. They will participate in the much anticipated All Camp Event where fun engaging games, crafts and themed activities are provided.

Themed All Camp Events may include Inflatable Extravaganza, J-Camp Carnival and Silly Sports. Camp will conclude every Friday in the Shultz Cultural Arts Hall for Shabbat where the entire camp will get to enjoy performances from other groups as well as a slideshow of the week. In addition, campers experience creative play and special themed activities planned by their counselors.

Please Note: This year Tayasim will be split in two groups by grade, Kindergarten-1st and 2nd-3rd; there will be times the group will be all together and separate.
