Camp Staff

Thank you for your interest in working at J-Camp. At J-Camp we introduce children to new experiences while helping them to create friendships in a fun and safe environment. We work to build confidence, imaginations and teach new skills.

J-Camp Staff Positions

You can find brief descriptions of the positions at J-Camp below. Depending on the hiring process, these positions may or may not be open. Please email the camp department at if you have any questions.

Counselors are responsible for the care and supervision of the campers in all aspects of the program. Depending on the period of the day, counselors lead their camper groups, lead activities, or execute special parts of the program. They build positive relationships with campers and serve as role models and authority figures.

Camp Counselor: Camp Counselors work from 7:30 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday. They will also participate in on-campus sleepovers and off-campus campouts.

PM Care Counselor: PM Care camp counselors for from 2:00-6:30 PM Monday-Friday. Occasionally will be asked to help with the day camp as well as on-campus sleepovers.

Unit Leader
Unit Leaders are the support system for counselors and are responsible for providing supervision, guidance, and structure. They are the primary contact for counselors concerning issues with campers and oversee the camp age group as well as ensure that counselors are able to excel at their roles. Unit Leaders also communicate with Program Coordinators and Directors regarding issues with counselors and campers. They are also the primary communication liaison with parents.

Coordinators serve as specialist in their specific roles. They are responsible for ensuring information is relayed to the Unit Leaders about programming, events and professional development. Coordinators help to support and guide Unit Leaders in their roles as the primary support system for campers, parents and staff. They work with Directors to ensure camp operations and logistics run smoothly throughout camp.

Program Coordinator:
The Program Coordinator oversees camp programming to ensure all camps plan and execute activities that are age appropriate. They help plan and execute all sleepovers and off-campus campouts. As well as serve as a resource to help Unit Leaders and Counselors plan activities for campers. They also serve as a support to the other Coordinators and Directors.

“Friday” Events and Spirit Coordinator:
The F.E.S. Coordinator plans and implements all camp events from Friday All Camp events to Family nights and Shabbat. They also serve as a support to the other Coordinators and Directors.

PM Care Coordinator:

The PM Care Coordinator plans and implements the PM Care program that runs from 3:30-6:00 PM. They are the support system to the PM Care counselors as well as serves as a support to all other Coordinators and Directors.
