Teen and Pre-Teen Camps

KOCHAVIM

Be a Light! For our teens and pre-teens entering grades 7, 8 and 9, we have an awesome program planned for our Kochavim (Stars).

With so many worldwide challenges, we want to empower our emerging teens to be change makers and make an impact locally and globally. Join us this year to take on social action projects that help protect our planet and care for the people and animals in our local community and beyond.

Our Kochavim campers will learn about important challenges, issues in our community and worldwide, and will be able to take action, let their voice be heard and be a source of light.

In addition to changing the world, our oldest campers will once again travel on our classic, fun field trips that provide fun adventures and build community off-campus. In accordance with public health guidelines, we are planning to bring back overnights and exciting extended day and extra adventurous field trips as it is safe to do so to provide an exciting and meaningful experience for our senior campers. Our Kochavim program is focused on community and connection, social action and fun adventures that create lasting memories and friendships!

CITs

Teens entering grades 9 and 10 will have the opportunity to apply to be a counselor-in-training (CIT). Throughout the summer, our CITs will learn important leadership skills and how to be a role model and care for others as a camp counselor. Guided by our camp values and leadership staff, CITs will gain a sense of responsibility and learn important skills such as managing tricky situations, communication best practices and facilitating fun and engaging programming. The CIT program is both a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow through hands-on experience, team building, professional development and of course our fun J-Camp traditions!

CITs must be available for a training on June 9th and 10th and need to apply and interview with our camp leadership staff before being accepted into the program.

*Special note for entering 9th graders: They can choose to participate in either the Kochavim or CIT program, based on their interests and what they hope to get out of the summer. If you or your teen have questions about which program is the best fit for them this summer, please reach out and we will be happy to discuss the two options in further detail.
